Panoramic view of Windsor and Falmouth, Nova Scotia

This photo taken a few weeks ago shows a panoramic view of the town of Windsor, gateway to Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, with the adjacent village of Falmouth in the background. I took the picture looking west from a hill on the east side of Windsor.

Windsor and Falmouth

Clicking on the image will bring up a much-enlarged view.

Not only is this a beautiful scene, IMHO, two very important structures that are actually about four kilometers apart appear almost next to each other.

A large water tower can be seen in the distance in the centre-right of the photograph. The Big Blue Tower is located just up the street from my new house. If you look a little to the left and below the tower, you can see a black church spire. That is my new church home, Christ Church, Windsor. (I can’t link to Christ Church because it does not have a website. Someone should do something about that.)

The top of the hill where I took the photo is occupied by Windsor’s Super 8 Motel. It’s a fine place for the price, and it has a water slide.

The blue marker on the left side of the map below is the Big Blue Tower, the one in the centre is Christ Church, and the right-most marker is the Super 8.

What there already! We’ve been waving our tattered flags on the Trans Canada for weeks waiting for you to pass. Well some of the time we were in Brandon’s Timmies, actually a lot of the time, but we did sit by the window.

  2. We flew from Calgary to Halifax, so I’m sorry to say your flag-waving was for naught. But, since our arrival, we have been spending time sitting in Windsor’s Timmies.

    Dear in the Lord Scott

This is a compressed & somewhat distorted pic of the See which does not do it justice. The See’s skyline is dotted with several other spires including smaller ones in your village which I encourage you to explore. I hope the illusion of the proximity of the Blue Tower & the Black Spire is not a prophetic sign of becoming black & blue yourself ;-)

    With all +blessings+
