Hindu nationalists treat Christians as “dhimmis”
Islamic governments typically compel Christians and Jews to accept dhimmitude, a set of legal and social disadvantages intended to enforce subjugation and humiliation. Now supporters of Hindutva (Hindu nationalism; literally, “Hinduness”) in Orissa state, India, are inflicting similar conditions on Christians, despite the fact that India is officially a secular and democratic state.
Orissa’s Archbishop Raphael Cheenath recently reported that, while Christians are free to move around their relief camps, most are too fearful to return to their villages. Christians who have returned to their villages have been forced to ‘become Hindus’ or pay a fee. Archbishop Cheenath reports that ‘humiliating and discriminatory rituals are imposed upon the Christians by the Sangh Parivar [Hindu nationalist] elements with impunity’. He says the Christians are not permitted to use the public restrooms when Hindus are there; they must salute tribals whenever and wherever they meet them; and Christian women are forced to wear humiliating clothing. ‘If a Christian is riding a cycle and happened to meet a “Hindu” Tribal, he has to get down from the cycle and walk. While bathing in the pond in the village, tribal “Hindus” have to … bathe first, only then Christians can bathe.’ Furthermore: ‘Christians are threatened with dire consequences if they dare to go to the Church. If they still make an attempt they are prescribed sanctions like they will have no access to drinking water wells, ponds, gathering of firewood, etc.’
Such discriminatory treatment belies government claims to have restored peace in the troubled region.

Blame the missionaries and western intelligence agencies.
If the west keep out of asia, it will be far more peaceful.
In a democracy majority cannot be ruled or bullied by the minorities.

Enough is enough. No peace at the cost of hindus.
Sangh Parivar are oppressing Christians and forcing them to convert to Hinduism. Who’s “bullying” whom?
Christian missionaries have been in India since the first century, so your facile equation between missionaries and the west is anachronistic. Francois Gauthier says he was “born a Christian”, but he doesn’t say he believes the gospel. He does, however, accept that Jesus visited India where he learned everything he taught. He also claims that Catholics “worship” the Virgin Mary, something directly contradicted by the catechism. Not much of a Christian; he’s certainly not “my” Christian guy.
[...] HINDU nationalists treat Christians as “dhimmis”; Hindu radicals protest statue of “Christian” [...]
“Sangh Parivar are oppressing Christians and forcing them to convert to Hinduism”.
Correction Please:
“Sangh Parivar are oppressing Christians and forcing them to convert “BACK” to Hinduism.” Few years back they were all hindus but very poor.
The extra word you added is irrelevant. The key point is that they’re being oppressed and forced to convert, contrary to India’s constitutionally guaranteed liberty of worship. Such liberty includes freedom to change religion.
Money is power, power is money. Isn’t it?
You can use force in many ways like swords, guns, personality… as well as massive dollars from west.
You said, they are being oppressed and forced to convert but prior to that, they were bribed and exploited.
What islam want to do by violence and rapid multiplication, the same thing missionaries want to do by conversions. The dream of pan islamic/christian world is no more feasible.I guess before that the world will come to an end.
BTW, why dont you tell the churches to talk about christianity and not hatred towards other religions. why dont u tell the missionaries to take interest in humanitarian work, charity instead of cajoling/bribing/exploiting the most weak and vulnerable sections of society.
The Indian Constitution provides for “liberty of worship” without no exceptions based on anyone’s socio-economic status. So, the constitution views your scruples about alleged financial resources as irrelevant.
In any case, do you really think that money justifies the way Hindutva radicals treat Christians? In Orissa and elsewhere in India, Christians have been raped, murdered, dispossessed, their houses burned down, and they have been forced to flee for their lives. Now they are being forced to “pay a fee” or become Hindu. They are not allowed to go to church; they cannot even use public restrooms.
It doesn’t matter how much anyone has spent, that kind of behaviour is inexcusable. I am surprised and saddened that you are defending it.
