Toronto: Boycott of Israeli wine fails

A small group of anti-Israeli Jews chose the week before Passover to organise a boycott of Israeli wine at the Summerhill LCBO in midtown Toronto on Sunday. It failed miserably as hundreds of customers packed the store and bought out the entire stock of Israeli wines within 30 minutes.
Carl, who lives in Jerusalem and blogs at Israel Matzav, received an e-mail from an eyewitness.
There was a boycott of Israeli wine at the largest Ontario LCBO (Ontario’s liquor distributor) by a group called Not In Our Name (see info at http://www.nion.ca/) and another Palestinian organization (I’m not sure specifically which one). In a counter move, Toronto’s Jewish community mobilized and showed up in the hundreds to buy all the Israeli wine at this LCBO. I heard from someone outside that they sold over 500 cases in a matter of a half hour. By the time I got there, about 30 minutes into the counter protest, there was no more Israeli wine available, and the boycotters had left in defeat. It was lovely, Scott.
I’m so disgusted that the failed boycotters are lying and saying they had to leave for their safety (they say in their video that they left at 2:00 o’clock but I videotaped them after 2:00, just standing around talking, at the other side of the building) and that the Jewish groups called in a biker gang for muscle. It’s not true.
